Zeina Haddad is an interesting businessperson with a very interesting business plan. On October 3rd, 2008 she opened Zaytoon.ca in Millet. Not only has she built a business on an online World Wide Web concept but also she has taken that e-commerce one step further and opened a store located in downtown Millet in the heritage building locally known as the Millet Mercantile Co.

Zaytoon.ca has only goods that are Fair Trade or made in Canada by Canadian Artisans. “In a country that is so rich in natural resources and talent, why are we outsourcing production, and exploiting people from developing countries?” says Haddad.

“Fair Trade ensures that artisans are paid fair prices for their work,” says Haddad. Haddad is passionate about her mission statement and the customers that support her. All merchandise in the store is also available online, and Zaytoon. ca will source products that a customer has interest in.

When you enter the business you are instantly impressed with her selection and the detail in the merchandising. Zaytoon.ca has coffees, teas, jewelry, paper products, tote bags and purses, hammocks, yoga mats, knit wear, hats, hand made slate products, organic indoor growing kits, metal art, wall tattoos, aroma therapy, candles, clothing to mention a few of her lines.
